COVID-19 Update

Important Show Announcement Regarding COVID-19 Concerns

We look forward to welcoming you and your staff to the 2020 REMI Show, IFMA Global Canada, ISSA Show Canada and the Greening Healthcare Forum taking place on our new show date of September 2-3, 2020 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (MTCC). Please note that due to the current issues surrounding COVID-19, we have moved the shows from their original date of June 10-11, 2020 to September 2-3, 2020.

The health and wellness of our attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, speakers and show partners is our top priority and will monitor this situation on a regular basis. At present, we do not foresee any impacts to our new show date and proceeding as planned; however, as a precaution, we’ve added additional protocols to ensure that all show participants enjoy a worry-free event.

Please be assured that we are monitoring this situation very closely. Should there be any changes to the current status of this health emergency, the show will take into account any recommendations from relevant federal, provincial and municipal authorities and implement all appropriate instructions. The show organizers are following the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO) and The Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) as well as Canada’s Chief Public Health Officer, Dr. Theresa Tam (@CPHO_Canada on Twitter).

Risk-free Registration: We have relaxed our standard cancellation clause. If sickness prevents you from traveling or attending, we will waive the usual cancellation administration fee and offer a full credit for next year’s event. We have also waived all substitution fees and will allow a replacement attendee to take your place right up until the event. Please contact bradm@mediaedge.ca if you have any questions or if you need to discuss your registration in more detail.

Attendee Precautions: If you have any flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) within two weeks prior to the event, if you have visited a high-risk area, or have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within 60 days of the show, we kindly ask that you stay home – we'll see you next time!

Health and Safety FAQs:

Is the show being cancelled due to COVID-19?

The show has not been cancelled, but we have moved the show to a later date and are monitoring the situation very closely. Should there be any changes to the current status of this health emergency, the show will take into account any recommendations from relevant federal, provincial and municipal authorities and implement all appropriate instructions.

What happens if I register, then get sick or need to change my travel plans?

We have relaxed our 2020 cancellation policies so that attendees can enjoy risk-free registration. If you need to cancel due to illness, we are happy to waive our administration fee and grant a full credit for you to attend next year’s event. We have also removed all substitution fees. If you have a question about this policy, please contact bradm@mediaedge.ca

What precautionary measures should I take as an attendee?

If you have any flu-like symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) within two weeks prior to the event, if you have visited a high-risk area, or have been in contact with an individual diagnosed with COVID-19 within 60 days of the show, we kindly ask that you stay home – we'll see you next time! While on site, wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, avoid touching your face, and cough into your sleeve or a tissue.

What preventive measures is the Show taking on site?

  • A health care team will be on site to manage any situations that may arise;

  • Hand-disinfecting stations and related signage will be positioned at all show entrances, registration desk, trade show floor, education session rooms and at networking reception venues;

  • Hand disinfecting stations and related signage are already installed by washrooms and common areas at the MTCC;

  • The MTCC has increased the frequency of their building cleaning and disinfecting programs;

  • MTCC catering staff are preparing and handling food and beverages following current health and safety standards.
