Completing effective building energy reduction projects in Canada represents the most affordable way to cut national GHG emissions, holds the largest potential for energy savings, and could unlock billions of dollars in economic opportunity, but in Canada these activities are being hamstrung. Through the Disclosure Challenge Program, the industry is taking the lead to demonstrate the value of disclosing benchmarking data, which will improve understanding of how Canadian buildings are performing, where they can be improved, and what kinds of support are necessary to make those improvements. This program will showcase the true value and opportunity that sharing performance data has to reduce costs and improve asset value.
